For over twenty years, I’ve been on a journey of personal growth and transformation to benefit myself, my loved ones, and the Rewire Me community. It’s put me in touch with Reiki healers, various yoga practices, Tibetan Buddhist masters, every kind of doctor you can imagine, meditation practitioners, and more—I even jumped from a 25-foot pole in the desert to learn about trust. I know that I will always be on this journey, because the beauty of life is that it’s a continuous path, leading us to events and experiences that we can constantly learn and evolve from.
Although I’ve figured out a lot of things and am often very happy, grounded, and able to focus on the things I want to contribute to the world, it’s important to me to continue to grow as a person and develop ways I can touch and support others on their journey to rewire.
While delving into my own personal growth and transformation, there were moments both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Through these life-changing experiences I discovered three things.
- First, there are many paths to self-discovery—as many ways to heal our emotional wounds as there are books in the bookstores, apps for our phones, and experts with websites. While there are a ton of choices (and I mean a ton…), there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
- Second, I’ve come to see that regardless of the modality, there’s one basic truth we have to face on the road to change. You see, it’s not just the lessons we learn, it’s how we incorporate those lessons into our lives.
- Finally, I’ve come up with seven questions, which anyone can ask if they want to begin a journey to grow, heal, or transform. They are:
Seven Questions on the Road to Change
-
Is the message real?
-
How do we tell if it’s love?
-
How can we know when the ways that used to work don’t work anymore?
-
Which spiritual path (if any) is the right one?
-
Can we change our minds and can our minds change us?
-
When is it time to let go?
-
How can we give our lives meaning?
Just as a traveler needs a roadmap to get to his destination, we all need to find a path that will take us from where we are to where we want to be. These questions will get you started on your path. I will be delving into theses questions—and sharing some of the answers that I have discovered—in more detail in the coming weeks and months in my Seven Questions on the Road to Change series of blogs.
While I fully acknowledge that I don’t have all the answers, I founded Rewire Me so you can benefit from the knowledge that I have gained on my journey. My hope is to help you avoid taking some wrong turns on your way to a whole, happier life. I look forward to helping you rewire!
