We’re all happy, if we only knew it. —Woody Allen
Mental exercises help build new brain cells and strengthen the connections between them, which is why I find it beneficial to challenge the brain with new activities every week. This week’s mental workout is about creating an environment of happiness each and every day.
What To Do
Collect images, colors, words, and phrases from magazines that remind you of happy moments and good feelings. Create collages of these imprints and post them all around your house in easy-to-spot places (the refrigerator door, your bathroom mirror) and hidden places (the inside of your closet door, the inside cover of your journal).
Why To Do It
The fact is that when you see these images of happiness, your focus shifts back toward loving care, which will put you on more solid footing to love your neighbors, your friends, your family, your colleagues. And love yourself, too. Allow yourself to feel a sense of love and joy. Do it deliberately and with as much dedication and focus as you offer others. You’ll relax, you’ll be happier and you’ll probably have more to offer the world as a result.
