No, I’m not from Ohio. Nor am I running to the store to buy Nike products—my son has more than enough already, thank you very much. That said, I do love the new TV commercial commemorating LeBron James’s return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

You don’t need to be a basketball fan to appreciate what the ad says about the power of hard work, redemption, generosity of spirit, and, most of all, community. Here’s what came across to me:

• It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from.
• We’re all in it together, working collaboratively toward a better life.
• Be selfless—do something for someone else.
• Reach out to others, embrace life as part of a community.
