I’m gearing up—literally!—for a 60-mile bicycle ride to raise funds for the American Heart Association. The Heart Ride supports life-saving research, medical and consumer education, and public advocacy.
On May 18, I’ll be among 150 Heart Ride participants pedaling through the Hamptons of Long Island, New York. Some cyclists will ride 100 miles, some (like me) 60 miles, and some 27 miles. Whatever the distance, the goal is the same: to help people build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
My mom suffers from congestive heart failure, so the American Heart Association’s mission is particularly meaningful to me. This will be my third year riding in the event, and I’m grateful for the opportunity, good health, and support of my family and friends to help this very worthwhile cause.
