An event to remember

I recently had the pleasure of speaking at the NYC Go Red for Women Educational Symposium about stress and its connection to heart health. Joined by a talented lineup of physicians and experts, we helped to raise awareness and educate women on the simple lifestyle changes they can make to transform their health.

It may seem like there’s nothing you can do about stress. The bills won’t stop coming, there will never be more hours in the day, and your work and family responsibilities will always be demanding. But you have a lot more control than you might think. In fact, the simple realization that you’re in control of your life is the foundation of managing stress.

As I presented mindfulness tips to manage stress, I was thrilled to see the material was resonating with many women in the room. It’s not easy to make ourselves vulnerable, but it was wonderful to hear people open up, express their fears and share their personal stories. The first step to creating change is awareness.
